CAROLINE BARNES

VISUAL STORYTELLER

Zion National Park, Spring 2020

I am a photographer because I enjoy memorializing the visual world through my individual perspective, the stories and moments that I see and find in my world. On the other hand, I enjoy capturing unexpected and simple moments in every day life. And I love to explore and better understand the world as a whole and the communities I live and work in. To do so, I carry my camera with me as often as possible, because you never know when you run into someone or something interesting and worth capturing, or when inspiration strikes.

I am currently a full-time media intern at the UGA Wesley Foundation. I recently finished my B.A. in Journalism at The University of Georgia where I also worked as a Staff Photographer at The Red & Black, the independent student-run newspaper in Athens, Georgia, on the Photo and Special Publications desks for three years. I will continue to use my formal training  in  photojournalism as I broaden my media horizons.
